Gideon

Gideon

Judges 6:15-16 Gideon said to God: My family is the meanest in Manasseh, and I am the most significant in my father’s house. God said: I (God) will be with you and you will cut down Midian to the last man. Catholic

Judges 7:25 They carried the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon…

Judges 8:10 120,000 soldiers fell.

Judges 8:21 Gideon murdered prisoners Zebah and Zalmunna.

Judges 8:30 Gideon had 70 sons for he had many wives.

What a Godly, heroic guy!

Judges 8:24-27 Gideon asked for rings from the booty, made an idol and all of Israel paid idolatrous homage which caused the ruin of Gideon and his family as they did not follow God.

Isn’t this a parallel Bible story to Aaron, Moses’ brother, making the golden-calf idol from earrings?

God’s people always seem to abandon God in the end. God obviously does not choose His people well – and proves not to be liked for long by most of His followers.

This work has researched and documented a lot of information. It is bound to have made mistakes. I, Gary DeVaney, do not claim this work to be totally accurate, but, I do claim that any mistakes are honest mistakes. As its author / editor, I have no intention to deceive anyone. The Bible contradicts itself in many places so some “errors” may just be based on Its own numerous contradictions. Not all contradictions, by source, are listed. If you find an error please submit your Biblical evidence. Upon verification, it will be corrected. It does have to be chapter and verse to be considered.
