What is God’s “Elect”? God and Who both know the “Elect” because They chose Their “Elect” before the Earth was formed. No one can take the “Elect” from Whose hand? The “Elect” have a free ride by “Grace”? Why didn’t the Jews believe this? Why am I so skeptical?

Who said: Let this cup pass from Me three (3) different times?
Who said: My god, My god, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
Who died, tombs opened, dead bodies raised and appeared to many?
Who cried out: Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit and breathed His last.
Psalm 31:5 Who said: Into Thine hands I commend my spirit. KJV
Careful now, as Psalm 31:5 wasn’t Jesus.
In reality, doesn’t someone have a better chance to get and hold on to life’s rewards if one earns them. Faith and hope generally indicates that someone wants something that others already have. Can’t faith and hope be potential thieves that assume entitlements to take unmerited gifts they have not earned.
Some say that everybody reads the Bible differently. If you go into it with love, you see love all through it. If you go into it committed with faith and belief, you will come out committed, having faith and believing. If you go in skeptical, you will probably remain skeptical. With all its hype and fearful stimuli, the Bible is an awesome hypnotic engine.

I, Gary W. DeVaney, am trying to approach the Bible as would an honest Supreme Court Judge, a big city prosecutor, a CIA intelligence officer, an FBI investigator, a homicide detective, a street cop, a concerned citizen. I choose to support human beings over a God who seems determined to cause them constant suffering and destruction. If you can write a better book concerning this subject, do so. I will be happy to critique its facts.
Critic: Every passage you have selected and pointed out is taken out of context.
Q: I agree. In what context would you view them to be more legal, moral, or acceptable?
Critic: In God’s value system.
Q: Do you, like God, also hold that those who don’t agree with you or don’t obey you should also be destroyed or eliminated?
Critic: From my world, yes.
Critic lawyer: You admit you are paraphrasing. That is always suspect.
Response: Check out your Bible and see the accuracy for yourself. It’s chapter and verse.
Critic lawyer: I’m a Buddhist. I won’t have a Bible in my house.
Some are closed-minded followers who insist that others follow as they do.
Matthew 13:41-42 The Son Of Man / Jesus Christ shall send His angels to gather out of His kingdom all things that offend and shall cast them into a furnace of fire.
Life is like a dog-sled race and unless you are the lead dog – the view is always the same.
From: Is Jesus Christ a Myth? Part One
Josephus
The only historian whom we might expect to mention Jesus is Josephus, a Jew who wrote a history of his people up to 66 A.D., which is called Jewish Antiquities. In fact, Josephus does mention Jesus twice, and so Christ Mythologists have to devote a lot of attention to attacking the relevant passages. Their job is made easier because Josephus, a Pharisee, probably felt nothing but contempt for Jesus. This meant later Christians tried to “correct” his negative phrasing.
The first mention of Jesus is in book 18 ofJewish Antiquities. Historians are largely agreed that the passage in question has been tampered with by a later Christian scribe. However, at least part of the passage is widely believed to be authentic. The words in bold below are thought to be the additions of a Christian scribe trying to make Jesus appear in a better light than Josephus would have wished.
Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was the Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day. (Josephus, Jewish Antiquities, 18, 3, 3)
Because Josephus – a Pharisee, who probably felt nothing but contempt for Jesus – most modern scholars view that Josephus’ writings were edited / altered by one or more Christian scribes. Historians are largely agreed that the Jesus passages in question have been tampered with by one or more later Christian scribes.
